Where SiteZeus is strong
SiteZeus is built for franchise and multi-unit brands and scores candidate sites against a large stack of geospatial layers. In May 2026 it relaunched its Locate platform as Atlas, adding an AI assistant and automated territory generation. For a franchisor that wants scoring and territory drawing in one enterprise system, it is the obvious incumbent.
The alternatives
| Platform | What it is | Published price |
|---|---|---|
| Placer.ai | Foot-traffic panel; visits, dwell, YoY | $31,000/yr (Bloomington, IN contract) |
| Buxton / Audiense In-Person | Consulting practice; psychographic segmentation | $40,000/yr (same comparison) |
| SiteZeus (Atlas) | Franchise and multi-unit site scoring | Custom quote |
| Tango Analytics | Portfolio and facilities management | CAD $24,924–49,403/yr |
| GrowthFactor | Self-serve site scoring | From $200/mo, one seat |
| Narrative Geo | Routed drive-time trade areas, 107 chains, chain-wide | Talk to us |
The gap worth knowing about
Site-scoring platforms answer a question about one address at a time. That is the right unit for a real estate committee reviewing a lease. It is the wrong unit for three other questions franchisors ask constantly:
- How many units does this system actually support nationally, at the drive time we underwrite?
- Which existing franchisees overlap each other, and by how much?
- If we grant this territory, what does it take away from the ones we already sold?
Those are chain-wide questions. They need every store's catchment computed at once, not a site scored on request.
Narrative Geo does not sample. Every trade area is routed on the actual road network with OSRM, against full Census/ACS population and a maintained POI set. The drive-time matrix is precomputed at 1.08 billion rows, so a national query across a 20,000-store chain returns in seconds rather than being metered per location.
